Grand Diva Dress Form Christmas Tree - DIY Tutorial

Grand Diva Dress Form Christmas Tree - DIY Tutorial

$ 10.00

Item # 6350307

Note: This is a DIGITAL product with a tutorial to show you how to DIY this style of dress form Christmas tree. The dress form and materials are NOT included.

This was the style dress form Christmas Tree which was on display at the White House in 2014 (see the photo with the lavender ribbon). We call this style the Grand Diva because it looks like a ballgown and plus you need ample place to display it. (not for small apartments)

This tutorial provides step by step instructions with plenty of photos so you can recreate this exact look. And we include examples on how to modify it using different materials on the bodice to match your style or decor.

You can use real or faux garland. If you use faux garland we have a trick to make it easy for you to remove the skirt and store it away so you can use the dress form for other purposes for the rest of the year.

Some skill and patience are required to make the skirt out of chicken wire.  So we recommend this tutorial for those with intermediate crafting experience.

The materials are NOT included. You can use a dress form you already own or buy one from us. Type in the code HolidayDIY to get 15% off the dress forms or dress form slipcovers on this page:

Love!

Dear Mannequin Madness,

Thank you for the tutorial instruction. I am in LOVE with making diva style mannequin trees and I mean I'm LOVING it! By day I am a candle maker of decadent dessert style candles-now by night I'm learning a new "sway" diva dress. Be on the look out for my purchase of additional recipes!

Sweet regards,

Sharon~~~

Absolutely Amazing

I'm a traditional girl but I'm completely sold on the Dress Form Tree. I Absolutely Love My Tree! I will be doing this every year from this point forward. My house will have two tress if my future husband is the traditional tree type. I just refuse to take it down, I worked so hard on it. She's absolutely gorgeous and I'm going higher and higher year after year. Thanks so much for the wonder tutorials you offer because you truly don't have to share your knowledge but you do. People like me truly appreciate it and are grateful. Thank you.

Deluxe Dress form tutorial

Instructions were very clear and end result was a big hit! My only comment is if using garlands from a craft store like Michael's, you need more garlands than tutorial calls for, like double the amount.

Thanks for your feedback Nancy. We have updated our tutorial to include more garland. When we designed the tutorial we were using garland from a floral supply company. Their garland is thicker and bushier than the garland at craft stores.
