Fur Babies & Flowers
The trend of fur babies wearing floral collars that match the flower crown of their fur mommy has been trending at weddings for a while.
As you can see on this Pinterest board it is now trending for all types of actvities.
Fur baby birthday parties, gotcha parties, photoshoots, take your pet to work day are just a few of the occassions that are perfect for a flower collar/headdress.
In this class you get to make BOTH a headdress for yourself and flower collar for your fur baby.
Unfortunately as much as we like pets, we can't have your fur baby attend the class with you.
So please take the measurements of your pet’s neck ahead of time so we can give you the appropriate size collar to decorate.
What You Do In Class
"One should either be a work of art or wear a piece of art." - Oscar Wilde
We open the class with a brief slide show of different styles of headdresses to inspire you.
After a review of glue gun safety tips, you go to our crafting supplies area with a handbasket to select the materials you want. Exploring our range of materials is half of the fun!
Then you return to your workstation which will have your crafting tools and a mannequin head wearing a headband.
Our instructor will consult with you on best practices to execute your design on the headband.
Relaxing music will be playing in the background and we have a selection of hot tea for you to drink. You can also BYOB.
At the end of class we take group and individual photos in our photo studio and send them to you on a google link.
ECO- FRIENDLY CRAFTING MATERIALS
"Creativity is making marvelous out of the discarded."
We prefer faux flowers over fresh so your headdress can last for years.
Our amazing variety of realistic looking faux flowers and foliage will provide you with lots of options for your design. Half of the fun you will experience in the class is exploring all materials.
Many of our crafting materials are acquired from the prop departments of the retail stores whose mannequins we recycle or other reuse sources. We love to recycle.
In addition to faux flowers we have other gorgeous embellishments
-and much more!
"The artist is not a special kind of person; rather, each person is a special kind of artist."
No previous crafting experience is necessary.
The only skill needed is the abiilty to use a glue gun. Our instructor will provide you with the guidance and inspiration to make your vision a reality.
Most of our students had never made a headdress before. And many were new to crafting and yet they all left wearing something they were proud of.
We have some of their designs showcased on our photo gallery.
"Create the things you wish existed"
Our venue has these amenities:
-A private kitchen if you want a pot luck or a catered event
-Photo studio where we take Instaworthy photos of you wearing your headdress
-Sound system so we can play a variety of relaxing instrumental music to get in the creative zone.
Classes are held in the showroom of Mannequin Madness, a venue so unique it was featured in the travel book, Secret California, a guide to the wierd, wonderful and obscure.
Our main business is selling recycled mannequins that is why you see mannequins in the backyard of some of the photos.
