Bald mannequins are fashion forward on the sales floor, but how often do you see bald women modeling in Vogue, W, or Elle magazines? Famous faces like Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Amber Rose have taken the “buzz cut” look to sexy heights, but, that’s not necessarily bald.

Blogger Mary is starting beauty movement that highlights the beauty of women who have Alopecia, a medical description of the loss of hair from the head or body, sometimes to the extent of baldness.

When searching around the internet for bald models, I found a familiar image of famous model Tyra Banks. On Cycle 6 of her popular model search show, she had the girls strike a pose while wear skull caps that made them appear to be bald.

It was a beautiful artistic rendering, but nothing much has been influenced by this leap of artistic faith since. Way back in the 1970’s the R&B musical group, the Ohio Players featured a bald woman on several of their album covers.
